M.J. Keefe was born on July 11, 1956 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He was raised in the Northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, D.C. After graduating from T.C. Williams High School in 1974 (Remember the Titans) he attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute in State University in Blacksburg, Virginia and received a Bachelor's of Science in Marketing in 1979. After a few years working in Washington, D.C. for different lobbying organizations he attended Vanderbilt University School of Law, graduating with a Juris Doctorate in 1985. Mr. Keefe was admitted to Pennsylvania bar in 1986, and to New Mexico bar in 1988.
From October 1988 through December 2000, Mr.
Keefe operated as a sole practitioner, practicing primarily in the areas of personal injury and insurance law, including employee
benefit law. M.J. has practiced before the Federal District Court for the District of New Mexico and the state courts
throughout the State of New Mexico.
Mr. Keefe has pursued actively a practice which
incorporates pro bono legal services. He has been a monthly participant in the domestic violence legal resources help
line; as an insurance law advisor to the AIDS legal panel; and other individuals and entities.
The practice of Mr. Keefe involves handling
individual and small business claims against insurance companies, for personal injury, disability benefits, fire, theft, life
and casualty claims of homeowners and businesses.
